A success story through and through

Weckenmann Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG has been honoured for their MBM® mobile battery mould with the Innovation Award of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The 10,000-euro award was handed over by the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut.

Weckenmann receives Baden-Württemberg Innovation Award 2016

"With the Innovation Award of the state of Baden-Württemberg, we reward pioneering ideas that medium-sized companies in Baden-Württemberg implement and bring on the market every year," said Minister of Economic Affairs Hoffmeister-Kraut on the occasion of the awarding of the Innovation or “Dr. Rudolf Eberle Prize" in late November in Stuttgart. The innovative aspect of the Weckenmann product lies in its mobility. Mobile battery moulds allow demand-based production of high-quality precast concrete parts in close proximity to or directly on the construction site. Regardless of whether this is located in an urban area or in remote areas. The advantages are obvious: the costs for the respective construction project, the number of transport trips and so the environmental impact is significantly reduced.

In Singapore, the first MBM® has already proven itself in practice – both in terms of productivity and mobility. Earlier this year, the Singapore-based company Kimly Construction Pte. Ltd. used it on a construction site in the city state with several 22-storey buildings. And recently, this transportable production plant has been successfully moved through the extremely densely built-up area to the next construction site.
