Expansion of in-house control and automation Technology.
Grimm Elektrotechnik GmbH has been active in the field of electrotechnology for years with the focus on control engineering. The close cooperation between the two companies goes back 20 years. Grimm has been manufacturing and installing some of the control systems for the Weckenmann machines and plants for precast concrete part production.
“With this acquisition, we have pursued a clear objective,” says Weckenmann managing director Wolfgang Weckenmann. “We want to expand our in-house control and automation technology division and are excited about this strategic and forward-looking solution.” Grimm Elektrotechnik managing director Torsten Patyk adds: “Weckenmann approached us in this regard and by taking this step we see promising development prospects for our employees.”
Taking over the Grimm employees will significantly strengthen and support the Weckenmann colleagues already dealing with this topic and it will firmly integrate the control engineering field in the company over the long term.
This successfully completes the first strategic step in the direction of independent in-house control engineering operations. In the process, the number of employees at the Dormettingen site will increase to around 120 employees.
The existing service that Grimm provides to other customers in the field of electrical engineering will at first for the most part be continued.
