While building the sales and technology centre Weckenmann also modernised and reorganised its components warehouse at its head office.

Warehouse refitted and upgraded.

The original warehouse was moved to a new building, so that the company now has a total area of 650 square metres to its disposal for pallet-based components and inventory management. The warehouse is equipped with a high-bay racking system with twelve shelf sections – including three with shelves and nine with pallet racking – with a height of 5.6 metres This provides space for 570 Euro pallets and 6,000 storage bins. The racks system is operated using a modern narrow-aisle truck.

The result of the investments: the goods now pass through – not least through the use of wireless scanners – the individual stations such as incoming goods identification testing, warehousing and provision for production noticeable faster. This just-in-time inventory management using the portable data collectors contributes to high transparency regarding material stock levels, availability and usage.

Goods receiving also moved as part of the enlargement of the warehouse. Two dock systems were installed for the loading and unloading of trucks. Moreover, a weatherproof terminal for parcel delivery will be added in the near future.
